prosecution's attempt to send brown to jail for six days. use his elected office to make personal gains or defraud the people he represented. but fox 5s political analyst mark plotkin believes that some will think the former chairman got off easily. >> i think most people don't think six days is in jail is a strong message. a few months in jail is a strong message. >> reporter: brown's attorney admits the bank fraud and campaign violations were wrong, but believes prosecutors would have never gone after brown if he was not the council chairman. >> he has received a sentence from the court and the court expects he will abide by the sentence. >> reporter: and brown shoulding released to head home in the next hour and that is what we told. brown will serve six months of home detention and wear an ankle bracelet, two years of probation and 4ity hours of community service. the judge said he wants the service to be visible to everyone. he wants it to happen on the weekdays, and he wants people ton this crime did not go unpunished. shawn? >> i'm curious d kwame brown talk at all today, g

violations at a local facility that turned deadly in one case. thanks for joining us tonight. i'm shawn yancy. >> i'm brian bolter. we'll begin with police swarming a maryland college campus this afternoon. >> a student made disturbing threatening remarks at rockville montgomery campus. tonight that student? custody. fox 5's maureen umeh has the story. >> a student was upset over a breakup. he was arrested on the montgomery college campus less than an hour after witnesses reported hearing him make threats. a threat of gun violence on the montgomery college campus in rockville. witnesses said a student commented he felt like shooting people just for fun apparently upset over a recent breakup. >> the witnesses came to the security office and notified them about the statements made. >> reporter: campus security notified rockville police, the two groups swarming the school cinching for the student who made the threat -- searching for the student who made the threat. witnesses describe the scene acescence tens and threatening. >> i didn't know if he was still here because -- because police w

to bank fraud charges back in june. melanie alnwick is live with the latest on thto give us an update. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. kwame brown's original plea agreement where he admitted guilt to all of those charges called for a six-month jail term. prosecutors have oftenned somewhat and sid they are asking that he spend -- have softened somewhat and said they are asking that he send just six days in jail. he pled guilty in june to putting some false information on bank loan applications. one of the loans was for a 39 high pressure foot, 330- horsepower boat. brown also forged the signature of a friend on an application and doctored two forms to save his income by tens of thousands of dollars. an audit found that brown's 2008 election campaign failed to report more than $400,000 in contributions and expenditures and that $239,000 wound up in the hands of a consulting company controlled by brown's brother. prosecutors said brown deserved credit since he did resign his position on the council, pleaded guilty and didn't default on any of those loans. they put
